The sex video probe has been completed by the police. The series of news reports have given us conflicting pictures. Unless and until the whole caper is fully exposed with hard facts gathered by a transparent police investigation, we will only be good at speculating.

One of the reports did mention that the police had identified and questioned the”couple” in the video if that is the case then the man could not be the embattled opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim! As he was busy campaigning in the just concluded Sarawak’s 10th state election when the news broke up…. could it?

I cannot help but feel sorry for Anwar, he was treated worse than a criminal and that Raja Petra (RPK) with his out of the blue accusation against Anwar just in time during the Sarawak election, what a dirty tactic? Can we ever believe RPK? He doesn’t seem to have any principle and integrity himself. In the same breath, a lot of things that has happened to Anwar is out of his own doing. Anwar is good at strategising and this has come back to haunt him.

If the man in the video is not Anwar than he will be vindicated and the Datuk T Trio would have done him a GREAT favour in the eyes of neutral Malaysians, and in fact in the eye of the world. But that omega watch is nagging at me. Conflicting indeed unless that watch does not belong to Anwar. By the way. would the watch company reveal the name of the watch’s owner knowing that their revelation would be detrimental to the owner? If they do, in this circumstance, I, for one, would not like to attract unnecessary attention as I own an Omega myself! And am wearing it right now.

Turning now to the video, we are all waiting with bated breath the conclusion of this shameful episode and for those responsible in screening it to be brought to justice.

I am re-posting the news in the STAR about the probe’s completion below:

Sex video probe complete, A-G to get investigation papers soon

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have completed the investigation into the sex video featuring a man resembling an opposition leader.

Deputy CID chief Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the investigation papers would be submitted to the Attorney-General’s (A-G) Chambers anytime now, adding that the case was investigated under the Penal Code for distribution of obscene material.

“It’s up to the A-G to take action. If we need to re-investigate anything, we will do so,” he said Sunday.

On whether police had received any feedback from the distributor of an Omega watch said to be recovered from the place where the alleged sex act took place, Acryl said police had no power to force the company to reveal the identity of the watch’s owner.

“Let’s just wait. We cannot force them to provide information about the owner of the watch,” he said.

“The identity of the watch’s owner is not an issue (in completing the investigation). What is important in our investigation is who is responsible for screening the video.”

Businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca chief minister Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik and Perkasa treasurer Datuk Shuib Lazim, collectively known as the Datuk T trio, said they had handed over the watch, allegedly taken from the room where the sex act was recorded, to the police along with the sex video.

At a news conference previously, Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was asked about his watch, said it was being kept by his wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Anwar had lodged a police report denying that he was the man in the video.
